Two-factor authentication for your account (CPanel)

Two-factor authentication (2FA), also known as two-step verification or dual-factor authentication, is a security step in which user provide other proof to verify that they are the same person login into the system. This pocess is done to protect both users and the data of the system from any unauthorized person. This 2FA provides a higher level of security. Cpanel and WHM also provide this function to the user to update their security level.

Bellow steps shows on how to setup 2FA for cpanel & whm.

CPANEL

  1. Login to your CPanel account and navigate to Security panel and click on the Two-factor Authentication. (Image 1)

2. After you click the button above, you will directed to the page as bellow (Image 2). Click on the Set Up Two Factor Authentication

3. Follow the Step as shown in the page. Use your phone and scan the QR Code. If you dont have any QR Code service, please do download Google Authentication App . For Android User (Click Here) for Apple User (Click Here). Once finish download the App you can choose to Scan the QR Code or enter a setup key manually as in the Blue Box (Image: 3)

Once success you can test the 2FA by login through cpanel for your account. At first you can enter you password and username as usual then you will be prompt to and verification key. The key you can get from the Google Authentication Apps.
